In the End, Everything Matters

I heard that today in a television commercial for Mercedes Benz automobiles.

What a provocative thought!  If it is true, and I largely believe it is, to what extent can / should it be applied to every act or concern of our lives?

I believe that our every action or inaction carries consequences—if not for us, for others within our sphere of influence or for the physical environment with which we interact.  Our use of time or opportunities, as I have often said before, especially matters.

Serious use of our time, careful use of our resources, constructive application of our talents, balanced application of our energies—all these matter because the season passes, the window of opportunity won’t stay open forever.  Moreover, our abilities peak and inevitably decline; the time when we could make a difference or affect an outcome for another person or for the world comes some times but once and then goes. Indeed it always goes.

So while things are still under our control, or could be if we consecrated everything we had to that which matters most to us or to which we could positively affect, take the opportunity and go for it.

Yes, in the end, everything matters.
